Charlie and Dyan, two genderfluid performers of Chinese descent stand face to face, their foreheads and noses almost touching. Both wear striking drag makeup inspired by Chinese opera. White base, bold red eyeshadow that sweeps across the brows, dramatic winged eyeliner, and dark lips. Their hair is slicked back, one in a low bun with shaved sides. Their bare shoulders and backs are visible, decorated with large black-and-grey tattoos — floral mandalas, an eye, a tiger with a monkey on Charlie , and a sun design on Dyan's chest. The overall effect is intense and intimate, blending softness with power.
