NYE DJ Main Stage Program

Darcy Justice

7pm - RnB / Hip Hop / Funk / Soul / Dub / Afro

Darcy Justice has made waves since her swift transition from dancefloor to in-demand DJ some years ago. As a Butter Sessions staple, Lounge resident and host of beautifully curated radio show ‘Moody’ on Triple R, it’s no wonder why she was invited for a return trip to the Inner Varnika stage. Although she shines when the tempo is low and the energy is high, Darcy moves effortlessly between genres – from R&B to rave, slow-mo-techno to soul. It’s the latter that brings it all together, her one-of-a-kind presence bringing calm and control to all within her path. Bringing tranquility to both, Darcy Justice has the opposite effect on any dancefloor.

Katie Pearson

8.30pm - Disco / House / Pop

Many DJs try to avoid the tags and pinholes that genres create. Most of them fail to do so. However, most of them aren’t Melbourne authority Katie Pearson. A blank insignia, Katie has avoided this through a unique, yet authentic musical journey. She has long been at the forefront of Australia’s queer dance scene, most notably as co¬host of “gay ass disco”, The Outpost. However, when you can regularly produce moments of dance floor ecstasy that Front Leftists thought only possible in the ’90s, you quickly become the scenes worst kept secret.

Barry Sunset

10pm - Disco / Pop / Cheese

Barry Sunset sounds are all over the shop, he is a part of new minted Australian output Lunatic Music, a label much like his DJing that encompasses all types of music. DJing since a young age has seen him hone his selections from countless hours behind the booth and is now a local hero treasured by the party-people of Melbourne. He has been known to produce some sneaky dancefloor remixes, which have recently seen the light of day on Multi Culti and Lunatic Music.

Check out the full program of free live music, outdoor cinema and community events on as part of Open Air in the Square.
