Getting There

Make merry at Melbourne’s Christmas wonderland.

Christmas comes to life at Christmas Square with festive decorations aplenty and the city’s iconic 16-metre light-up tree. Pop in to visit the big man himself at Santa’s Workshop from 26 November.

This is a Christmas Festival event, presented by City of Melbourne with support from the Victorian Government and Fed Square.

What’s happening?

Santa’s Workshop

Pop in for a photo with Santa and his Elves – they’re busy toiling away in his workshop, getting all the toys ready for Christmas, but they’ve always got time for a pic.

Christmas Tree

The city’s beautiful twinkling 16metre-high Christmas Tree will be taking centrestage this festive season at Fed Square. Each evening from 9pm until 11.30pm, on the hour, you will be able to enjoy a special Christmas Tree sound and light display. It’s a Festive season must-see!

Visit Santa in his workshop this Festive season – and don’t forget to bring your camera for a pic! Santa and his elves are hard at work in his Melbourne workshop, making toys and presents for the big day. It’s a busy time of year and there’s lots of tools and machinery to help Santa get ready. Say hello to the big man and pose for a photo from a socially safe distance. You do not need to book in to take a photo, but please note there may be a small wait time during busy periods. On rare occasions, Santa can’t make it in to his Workshop. To avoid disappointment, we recommend checking our Instagram stories or Twitter updates before you make a trip in to see him – to see if there are any Santa updates.
