Shhhh! We’ve got a TOP SECRET. Our winter Anything But Square: Under Surveillance program of workshops is out. And it’s a doozy. 

Embroider your own Evil Eye with Pink Ember Studios, make eye-catching jewellery with Haus of Dizzy, Paint a Mate in the style of Picasso or get your peepers checked with Specsavers.  

All classes are available by small donation, which goes to the Fred Hollows Foundation’s Indigenous Australia Program.

I See You – Paint a Mate with Champainting (SOLD OUT)

Friday 8 and 29 July, 6pm-8pm | The Edge

With a glass of wine in one hand, and a paintbrush in the other, feel the creativity flow through you as you Paint your Mate in the style of Picasso. You’ll be guided by a professional artist and art materials will be provided, ensuring you have exactly what you need to create your very own masterpiece. This is a beginner-friendly class.

What you’ll get:
A 40cm x 50cm canvas to take home and a personalised paper carry bag
Aprons and all painting materials are provided
Guidance from an expert.
A glass of wine or non-alcoholic drink

What to bring:
A friend to share the experience with!

The $20 fee per class will be donated by Fed Square to the Fred Hollows Foundation Indigenous Australia Program.

Eye Embroidery with Pink Ember Studio

Thursday 14, 21, 28 July and 4 August, 6pm-7pm | Atrium

Participate in a four-week embroidery program presented by Pink Ember Studio, as part of the Fed Workshops where you can create your very own embroidered evil eye. Participants are welcome to return for each of the 4 classes or drop in anytime. Pink Ember Studio will teach two new stitches every week, with no prior training necessary. Embroidery beginners are welcome and encouraged! All materials will be provided.

Pink Ember Studio is a queer-run cooperative from right here in Melbourne, and they’re the undisputed masters of their craft. Join us for this workshop and get creative!

Get ready to make your own bling with self-confessed ‘Queen of Bling,’ Wiradjuri designer Kristy Dickinson of Haus of Dizzy. Kristy’s jewellery celebrates and honours Indigenous culture. Her use of vibrant colour, glitter and powerful words make a bold statement and bring a sense of joy to everyone who wears her pieces.

The $10 fee per class will be donated by Fed Square to the Fred Hollows Foundation Indigenous Australia Program.
