Recycled Rhythms by MESS

Can we make something entirely new out of discarded tech? Let’s find out!

Inspired by Telstra’s synth made from e-waste, Recycled Rhythms invites curious young makers aged 10+ to look inside the machines. Experiment with sound and build your own prototype of an electronic instrument!

This interactive, play-based workshop is a hands-on exploration of DIY electronics and recycling through tinkering and musical exploration. All while learning fundamental skills in electronics, creative expression and collaboration in a safe and fun environment.

Participants will leave the workshop with the imagination and confidence to make simple musical circuits from the discarded tech in the back of the cupboard. Better yet, they’ll go home with step-by-step instructions, an equipment list and information on where to go for more learning.
