Important information about our full overnight site closure from 11-12 February.
Due to a planned power outage and audit, Fed Square will lose power from 11pm on Tuesday 11 February until 6am on Wednesday 12 February. During this time, the Square will be fenced off and there will be no public access to Fed Square.
We apologise for any inconvenience caused as we conduct this essential maintenance work.
See below for FAQs regarding the site closure.
Why is Fed Square closing?
This closure is due to essential maintenance works being carried out overnight, to ensure the safety and functionality of our facilities.
What areas of Fed Square will be closed?
Temporary fencing will be installed around the perimeter of Fed Square, with gates closing at 11pm. Fencing will prevent access to the Main Square, shops, galleries, restaurants and bars, and the Fed Square car park.

Extra Security and customer service staff will be on and around the precinct to help direct people around the Square.
Will there be light along Birrarung Marr Walk?
A power generator will be set up along Birrarung Marr Walk, to power temporary lighting for pedestrians.
Can I access the Fed Square car park?
The Fed Square car park will be closed from 5pm on Tuesday 11 February and will reopen on 12 February after 6am. Vehicles will be permitted to exit the car park until 11.30pm on Tuesday 11 February.

Yes – we expect between 5-6 total site closures will need to be planned before the end of June, 2025. We will notify the public via our website, weekly e-news and on social media.
