World Ballet Day
For the sixth year running, World Ballet Day will see The Australian Ballet alongside a record-breaking 31 dance companies, including The Royal Ballet and The Bolshoi Ballet, join forces in a global celebration of dance.
The Australian Ballet is holding a free event at Fed Square on Wednesday 23 October – and you’re invited!
You’ll be able to watch World Ballet Day LIVE on the big screen and watch some truly wonderful ballet performances and workshops. There’ll also be a range of free activities to take part in, with something for absolutely everyone.
Mark your calendars and pack your ballet flats; we’re looking forward to seeing you there. Take part in a class, watch a workshop or just come to bask in the excitement of World Ballet Day. It’s going to be a day to remember!
FREE Adult Ballet Class
A 30-minute class practised to live music, for all ages and abilities. Please wear soft comfortable shoes or ballet flats.
Session 1 – 8.00 am
Session 2 – 8:30 am
FREE Dancing Story
30 minutes of dance class suitable for early learners from ages 3 to 5 years old.
Session 1 – 9.00 am
Session 2 – 9:30 am
FREE Seniors Ballet Class
45 minutes of dance class suitable for seniors even with a low level of mobility – standing and walking up steps will be required. Please wear soft comfortable shoes or ballet flats.
Session 1:45 pm – 2:30 pm
