As darkness descends over the Melbourne cityscape, join us for Carl Theodor Dreyer’s haunting foray into horror paired with an unsettling score by Chiara Kickdrum.
Guided by mysterious shadows, a young wanderer with an interest in the occult happens upon a manor. Shortly after he arrives, he discovers that the daughter of the Lord is unwell and appears to be dying, but a mysterious text reveals that she might be turning into a vampire.
Join us as Melbourne-based DJ and composer Chiara Kickdrum presents her original score live on stage for Vampyr, directed in 1932 by visionary director, Carl Theodor Dreyer.
This very special free performance is co-presented with ACMI. Arrive early to grab a deckchair or bring your own chair or picnic rug.
We’ll also be shouting you gelato from our friends at Cups n Cones. Serving delicious house-made artisan gelato and sorbets, there will be a selection of nine flavours to suit everyone (6 dairy, 3 non-dairy). Available from 7.30pm-9.30pm or until exhausted (limit 1 per person).
