Zurich Walk to the 'G

A favourite event on the football calendar returns: the famous Zurich Walk to the ‘G.

Taking place this year on Monday 10 June, the annual walk coincides with FightMND’s Big Freeze Match, a game that sees the league and wider community rally around Melbourne great Neale Daniher in his fight against Motor Neurone Disease (MND).

Since 2015, the year of FightMND’s first Big Freeze Match, fans, members and supporters have been encouraged to throw their collective support around a cause that touches the lives of thousands of Australians, as well as a stalwart of the football community.

Daniher has been valiantly fighting MND with his charity FightMND, raising vital money and awareness for the disease he has named ‘the Beast’. Together, the organisation has raised over $97 million dollars in the 10 years since its inception, but there’s still more to be done.

Beginning the journey at Fed Square, supporters will walk towards the ‘G via Daniher’s Way, a walkway named after Daniher, acknowledging the significant impact he has had on both the AFL and wider Australian community.

The day will kick off from 11am at Fed Square, with a number of exciting activities, special guests and Q&As with past and current Demons players.
