This FIFA World Cup, Fed Square will become a watch zone for fans to cheer on the Socceroos.

The Socceroos are set to play FIFA World Cup host nation the USA as well as Türkiye and Paraguay in their Group D matches.

Along with AAMI Park, Fed Square will be a watch zone where you can catch the matches on our Big Screen and cheer on Australia.

Fencing and bag checks will be in place for these match screenings and entry is on a first-come, first-served basis.

Once Fed Square reaches capacity, visitors will be redirected to AAMI Park.

You are advised to arrive early, to ensure you have enough time to pass through security, or to reach AAMI Park if you are redirected.

What FIFA World Cup 2026ᵀᴹ matches are being shown at Fed Square?

Fed Square will be screening the following FIFA World Cup 2026ᵀᴹ matches on the Big Screen:

  • Australia v Türkiye, 2pm Sunday 14 June 2026
  • USA v Australia, 5am Saturday 20 June 2026
  • Paraguay v Australia, 12pm Friday 26 June 2026

Do I need a ticket to attend?

No. Fans coming to cheer on the Socceroos at Fed Square for these games will not need a ticket. Fencing and bag checks will be in place for these match screenings and entry is on a first-come, first-served basis.

What happens if Fed Square reaches capacity?

Entry is on a first-come, first-served basis. If Fed Square reaches capacity, visitors will be redirected to AAMI Park. We recommend arriving early to allow sufficient time to pass through security screening or, if required, make your way to AAMI Park should Fed Square reach capacity

Can I bring my children?

Children under the age of 15 must always be under the supervision of a responsible adult (18 years of age or older) when attending these events.

For children aged 15 years old or over, parental discretion should be exercised regarding whether they can attend these events without supervision.

Will Fed Square be fenced off? When will access to the Square be closed?

Event fencing will be in place from early June, and general public will be able to access the Square on non-event days. On event days, the Fed Square fence gates will be closed at the following dates and times in line with Socceroos matches:

  • Sunday 14 June, 11.30am – 4pm (or when game ends)
  • Saturday 20 June, 2.30am – 7am (or when game ends)
  • Friday 26 June, 9.30am – 2pm (or when game ends)

On event days, 3 designated entry gates will open 90 minutes before kick off and remain open until capacity is reached.

Where do I enter Fed Square?

Entry to the Square will be via one of three access points: Swanston Street, Flinders Street, and Birrarung Marr. On arrival, you will be subject to bag checks and security screening as part of the Conditions of Entry.

To support a safe and smooth experience, entry and exit points will be clearly signed and our team will be on hand to answer queries and to assist with movement throughout the Square.

What’s the best way to get to Fed Square to watch the matches?

The best way to travel to Fed Square is via public transport. More information on travel options can be found on our website here or on the Transport Victoria website. Please note, public transport options may be limited for the USA v Australia match given the kick-off time of 5AM (AEST).

Is parking available?

The Fed Square car park will be operating during these events and can be accessed via Batman Avenue . You can pre-book parking at the Fed Square car park here.

What time will you open gates and allow people in?

Fans coming to watch the Socceroos’ matches will be able to access Fed Square from the times listed below. Gates will open 90 minutes before kick-off to ensure visitors have ample time to enter the Square safely.

Will there be pass outs?

Pass outs will not be permitted for these screenings.

Will there be accessibility zones?

Yes. A dedicated pathway will be in place within the Main Square to gain access to an accessible viewing area for the events. The best entrance for patrons with access requirements is Gate 3 – Swanston Street Forecourt.

Can I bring a backpack or large bag?

You can bring a bag if it is under 45cm x 35cm (40 litres and under). There are no cloaking facilities at the Square. Bag checks will be conducted when entering Fed Square for these events. A list of prohibited items can be found here*.

Can I bring food and drinks to the screenings?

You can bring your own food the screenings. Please check the list of prohibited items, as metal drink containers, glass and alcohol are not permitted. Drink bottles must be plastic, empty and under 750mL capacity (there are free water stations in the Square)

What food and drink options will there be?

There are a range of cafes and restaurants at Fed Square and in surrounding areas. Please check individual opening hours for each match with the business: Restaurants and Bars at Fed Square

Can I drink alcohol at the screenings?

Alcohol is not permitted in the Square during the screenings. Alcohol can only be consumed in Licensed venues in the Square. Transport and Good Nature will both be screening FIFA World Cup 2026ᵀᴹ matches – check their websites for more details.

Is there pram parking?

There will be no pram parking available at the screenings.

I have a booking at Chocolate Buddha OR Time Out OR Good Nature Upper Garden; can I access the restaurant on event days?

Please check gate opening times on event days and arrive early, as you will need to line up with the public to access these venues. If capacity is reached, you will not be able to gain access to the Square.

*Prohibited Items

  • Flares, fireworks, smoke bombs or any other incendiary devices
  • Illicit substances including controlled, dangerous or illicit drugs
  • Knives or other dangerous weapons
  • Firearms and explosives, chemical, radioactive or biological substances
  • Laser lights
  • Any object that can be thrown as a missile
  • Bags over size 45cm x 35cm (40 litres and under)
  • Glass (including bottles) or cans, metal or hard plastic containers (eskies), including metal drink bottles and plastic bottles over 750ml. There may be a requirement for all drinks to be decanted out of its original packaging (e.g. can or bottle). Staff may also remove lids and bottle tops from drinks.
  • Aerosols of any type
  • Promotional items intended for resale
  • Alcohol
  • Portable tables, tents or sun shelters (unless otherwise advised)
  • Drones or unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs)
  • Bicycles, scooters, skateboards and rollerblades/skates
  • Non-accredited photographic equipment and recording devices for commercial purposes (including audio and audio-video equipment or devices);
  • Large flags/banners exceeding 1m x 1m
  • Flag poles composed of materials other than plastic or wood or greater than 1.5 metres in length;
  • Umbrellas
  • Any signs, banners, or materials (including clothing and flags):
    • displaying offensive or inappropriate content or unauthorised commercial or promotional content, (whether written in English or a foreign language); or
    • which may vilify a person, cause offence or incite hatred or violence;
  • Any item that, in the opinion of management, may interfere with the security of the Venue or cause injury, public nuisance or which is deemed dangerous or hazardous to fellow patrons.
