This FIFA World Cup, Fed Square will become a watch zone for fans to cheer on the Socceroos.
The Socceroos are set to play FIFA World Cup host nation the USA as well as Türkiye and Paraguay in their Group D matches.
Along with AAMI Park, Fed Square will be a watch zone where you can catch the matches on our Big Screen and cheer on Australia.
Fencing and bag checks will be in place for these match screenings and entry is on a first-come, first-served basis.
Once Fed Square reaches capacity, visitors will be redirected to AAMI Park.
You are advised to arrive early, to ensure you have enough time to pass through security, or to reach AAMI Park if you are redirected.

Fed Square will be screening the following FIFA World Cup 2026ᵀᴹ matches on the Big Screen:
Do I need a ticket to attend?
No. Fans coming to cheer on the Socceroos at Fed Square for these games will not need a ticket. Fencing and bag checks will be in place for these match screenings and entry is on a first-come, first-served basis.
What happens if Fed Square reaches capacity?
Entry is on a first-come, first-served basis. If Fed Square reaches capacity, visitors will be redirected to AAMI Park. We recommend arriving early to allow sufficient time to pass through security screening or, if required, make your way to AAMI Park should Fed Square reach capacity
Can I bring my children?
Children under the age of 15 must always be under the supervision of a responsible adult (18 years of age or older) when attending these events.
For children aged 15 years old or over, parental discretion should be exercised regarding whether they can attend these events without supervision.
Will Fed Square be fenced off? When will access to the Square be closed?
Event fencing will be in place from early June, and general public will be able to access the Square on non-event days. On event days, the Fed Square fence gates will be closed at the following dates in line with Socceroos matches:
On event days, designated entry gates will open before match kick-off and remain open until capacity is reached.
Where do I enter Fed Square?
You must enter the Square through designated entry gates at Swanston Street, Flinders Street, and Birrarung Marr Walk. You will not be able to access the Square through any of Fed Square’s venues (ACMI, NGV Australia, Good Nature and Transport Hotel) as there is security in place and interior doors will be locked. On arrival, you will be subject to bag checks and security screening as part of the Conditions of Entry.
To support a safe and smooth experience, entry and exit points will be clearly signed and our team will be on hand to answer queries and to assist with movement throughout the Square.

Is parking available?
The Fed Square car park will be operating during these events and can be accessed via Batman Avenue . You can pre-book parking at the Fed Square car park here.
What time will you open gates and allow people in?
Fans coming to watch the Socceroos’ matches will be able to access Fed Square from the times listed below. Gates will open well before kick-off to ensure visitors have ample time to enter the Square safely.

Will there be pass outs?
Pass outs will not be permitted for these screenings.
Will there be accessibility zones?
Yes. A dedicated pathway will be in place within the Main Square to gain access to an accessible viewing area for the events. The best entrance for patrons with access requirements is Gate 3 – Swanston Street Forecourt.
Can I bring a backpack or large bag?
You can bring a backpack or bag if it is under 45cm x 35cm (40 litres and under, A4 size). There are no cloaking facilities at the Square. Bag checks will be conducted when entering Fed Square for these events. A list of prohibited items can be found here*.
Can I bring food and drinks to the screenings?
You can bring your own food the screenings. Please check the list of prohibited items, as metal drink containers, glass and alcohol are not permitted. Drink bottles must be plastic, and under 750mL capacity (there are free water stations in the Square).
What food and drink options will there be?
There are a range of cafes and restaurants at Fed Square and in surrounding areas. Please check individual opening hours for each match with the business: Restaurants and Bars at Fed Square.
There will also be a sausage sizzle fundraiser run by Fawkner Soccer Club.
Can I drink alcohol at the screenings?
Alcohol is not permitted in the Square during the screenings. Alcohol can only be consumed in Licensed venues in the Square. Transport and Good Nature will both be screening FIFA World Cup 2026ᵀᴹ matches – check their websites for more details.

I want to visit a venue at Fed Square during one of the matches. Will it be open?
Friday 26 June
NGV Australia, ACMI, ZINC, Good Nature Hotel, Transport Hotel (including Taxi Kitchen and Transit Rooftop Bar) and Time Out are all open. Chocolate Buddha, KHT, the NGV Cafe, Mama Gozleme and MESS are all closed.
Will there be variations to how I can access a venue during event hours?
On event days access to NGV Australia will be via Russell Street Extension, ACMI will be via Flinders Street, and Transport Hotel is via Swanston Street.
To access Chocolate Buddha, Time Out or Good Nature Hotel (Upper Square beer garden), you must enter through a designated entry gate on Swanston St, Flinders St or Birrarung Marr Walk and pass through security.
You will not be able to access the Square through any of Fed Square’s venues (ACMI, NGV Australia, Good Nature and Transport) as there is security in place and interior doors will be locked.
Good Nature Hotel is also accessible via Flinders Street, but you won’t be able to access the Upper Square beer garden via that entrance.
I have a booking at Chocolate Buddha OR Time Out OR Good Nature Upper Garden; can I access the restaurant on event days?
Please check gate opening times on event days and arrive early, as you will need to line up with the public to access these venues. If capacity is reached, you will not be able to gain access to the Square.
What facilities are accessible within the fenced perimeter during the games?
Toilets, water stations, first aid and quiet room are all accessible during games. You won’t need to exit the Square to access these facilities.
How many screens will there be to watch the match?
There will be two screens set-up for fans to watch the games: the Big Screen and a temporary screen set up on the Western Terrace. Good Nature Hotel, Transport Hotel and Time Out will all have their own screens set-up to watch the games.
Is there pram parking?
There will be no pram parking available at the screenings.
Can I take photos?
You’re welcome to take photos from the crowd, however please refer to our list of prohibited items to ensure your camera will be accepted.
What happens if someone brings in prohibited items?
In the unlikely event that someone manages to bring in prohibited items via the controlled entries, on site security will be present to ensure crowd safety. If the use of prohibited items occurs, such as flare and fireworks, it may be necessary to pause or stop the screening of the games.
