On January 26, 2020, in a two-hour special network event, the nation are invited to tune in and experience unique Indigenous perspectives, cultural performances and entertainment during NITV’s Sunrise Ceremony broadcast. From 6-8am, NITV presenter John Paul Janke will be joined by Channel 10’s Narelda Jacobs, and an array of guests, live from Sydney’s North Head. A smoking ceremony at sunrise will be accompanied by a panel of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander voices who will discuss what it means to be Australia today, and explore issues impacting First Nations communities when considering the land that we all call home, alongside song, dance and musical performances from Djakapurra, Eric Avery and Mau Power.
