Interactive Composition DJs and music producers from the Melbourne Conservatorium of Music and dancers and animators from the Victorian College of the Arts meet head-on to create an electrifying all-ages experience.
Bring your friends to catch some of Melbourne’s up-and-coming live music acts and DJs, accompanied by contemporary dance performances – as you watch entrancing animated visuals created to complement the experience, on our famous Big Screen.
Celebrate 10 years of Interactive Composition at the Melbourne Conservatorium of Music – and join in the party to ring in 2023 at Fed Square.

New Years Eve at Fed Square is presented by students from the Melbourne Conservatorium of Music and the Victorian College of the Arts at the University of Melbourne, in partnership with Fed Square.

From 7.30pm | $250 per person
Join Victoria by Farmer’s Daughters to ring in the new year! Start your night with a welcome cocktail and canapés on their riverside terrace, before heading in to the stunning dining room to enjoy a sharing style dinner showcasing some of our states best producers.

Ring in the New Year in good taste and great company, and celebrate with HERO. Located in the heart of Melbourne city, indulge in a one-hatted dining experience, with a custom celebratory menu designed by Karen Martini and Philippa Sibley.

Revel in the New Year with an unforgettable experience at Taxi Kitchen! Set amidst the city lights and above the crowds at Federation Square, this Masquerade themed event is sure to create memories that will last.

A special four course New Year’s Eve menu awaits at Time Out café, including dips to start, shared entrees of prawns, salt and pepper calamari, and cheese cigars with honey quince jam, and your choice of main – select from a warm Thai chicken salad, fish and chips or porterhouse steak. Finish with a delicious white chocolate and raspberry cheesecake.

Nothing says New Years Eve like a party on the rooftop! Ring in the new year with at the exclusive New Year’s Eve party at Transit Rooftop Bar!

Come and celebrate New Years Eve at Melbourne’s meeting place! The Public Bar is just a hop, skip, and a jump away from Flinders Street Station, making it the perfect venue to kick back with friends as you welcome in the New Year!

Wave goodbye to 2022 at Beer Deluxe’s Party in the Beer Garden. They’ll have live tunes, craft beer and delicious food for you to purchase. Round up your friends and make a booking.

This year Big Esso by Mabu Mabu will be keeping their food and drinks rolling past midnight. Book a spot in the sun in their alfresco dining area all day, available from 11am until midnight, or drop in for some late night cocktails until 2am.

Say goodbye to 2022 on the banks of the Yarra River, under the stars and fireworks, as you enjoy a special all-inclusive NYE package at Riverland, featuring live DJ performances.

Getting to the Square
If you’re coming in to the CBD to enjoy New Year’s Eve, be sure to check out the City of Melbourne’s information online. Crowd control measures will be in place on the night, which will affect access to the Square.
