From Monday to Thursday, Fed Square will showcase the creative ingenuity of five films raising awareness for and reduce the risks of extreme heat.

Developed and created over a 48-hour period, with women and gender diverse people in key creative roles, these films display a whole range of different genres to remind us of the dangers of global warming and our relationship with the environment.

Films:

All of us Cockroaches (CJ du Blèt)
Oggy and Stewart are cockroaches living in an increasingly hot box. Tensions rise as it heats up with disastrous consequences.

Ankur (Amruta Apte)
Young boy, Neil, is given a beautiful plant by his mum, which he cherishes. But will it survive the summer while they are away?

When Lemons Give You Life (Lisa Baker/Lemonade Mouth)
Running a lemonade business can be hard, even in the off season when temperatures are still on the rise.

Recipe for Disaster (Lucy Davidson/Goose)
Start with a hot day, add in poor health, older age, heavy clothes, and a touch of alcohol. It’s a recipe for disaster.

Methods (Natalia Bornay, Maho Arca Oltra, Mailen Ramirez)
With the air conditioner on the blink, can we still find ways to keep cool in extreme heat?
