Habibi Hafla provides a platform for people of all backgrounds to experience, and appreciate the rich cultural heritage of the Arab world, fostering a sense of community and cross-cultural understanding. Curated and produced by Lebanese-Australian DJ, broadcaster, curator and tastemaker MzRizk, Habibi Halfa collaborates with festivals, artists and organisations to create inclusive event experiences showcasing the vibrant music, arts and traditions of the SWANA (Southwest Asia and North Africa) region. Haflas have taken place at Section8 and The Toff in Melbourne as well as at iconic venue KED in Beirut, Lebanon.
In 2024, Habibi Hafla flipped the script at Brunswick Music Festival, taking over the iconic A1 Bakery for its first-ever public live music event. The family-run Lebanese spot became a makeshift dance floor, pulsing with live music, DJ sets and a belly dance performance.
Habibi Hafla continues to carve out space for diasporic joy in Naarm – one dancefloor at a time.
