A retail offer like no other, The Convenient Store stocks a keen-eyed edit of food and drink, showcasing the very best Victoria has to offer, from the mass-made to the deeply bespoke and everything in between.

Part Japanese convenience-store, part Brooklyn bodega, and presented in partnership with 7-Eleven, it sells an array of fresh snacks that includes an MFWF-edition cherry-blossom Tokyo Lamington, spiced nuts from hit Richmond restaurant Jeow, an exclusive Hot and Sassy flavour from Chappy’s Chips, panettone hot-cross buns from To Be Frank, ferments from celebrated Korean chef Jung Eun Chae, tricked-up bickies from Miss Trixie, and caramelised ghee from Enter Via Laundry.

Festival-special sandwiches from the Johnny’s Deli counter are a highlight, with chef Victor Liong bringing the Lee Ho Fook magic to a spicy Sichuan-style lamb sandwich, and Smith + Daughters’ supremo Shannon Martinez taking the chicken parma sando to bold new plant-based places.

Delve into the pie warmer and you’ll see the delectable love child of a Johnny’s Reuben and a classic Pie Thief pie, and if you peek into the freezer cabinet you’ll find strawberry-gum ice-cream made in collaboration between Timboon and the Worn Gundidj Aboriginal Corporation and a 7-Eleven banana-bread ice-cream from Brunswick sensation Luther’s Scoops.

Thirsty? From 4pm to 7pm daily, meanwhile, the store transforms into Melbourne’s hottest new bar, showcasing a cocktail list of Slurpee cocktails (including Pine Lime Float with Killick Silver rum! Creamy Soda with Nagambie Gin!) as well as custom MFWF canned cocktails from Curatif (Melbourne Margaritas! Wet Martinis!) plus great Victorian wines and purpose-brewed beer on tap from the mighty Brick Lane for a truly happy hour.
