Having started in 2010, the Melbourne Japanese Summer Festival is an event that strengthens cultural engagement and deepens the understanding of Japanese culture, including food, art, traditional music and performance.
Prioritising health and safety above all else, we have decided to deliver the festival online once again to align with this year’s theme; “GET HEALTHY, BE HAPPY!”
The theme was derived from our collective commitment to pay attention to our health given the continued pandemic and to strive towards achieving a healthier lifestyle balance.
Festival staples such as the captivating Japanese Drum “Taiko” performance will be returning to our screens. In addition, several new features will be coming to you this year, including our new Photo Contest and Cooking Contest, which you will be able to take part in.
Given many Australians already have great knowledge of the health benefits of Japanese cuisine, we’re also going to be delivering viewers with a feast of new ideas under the theme of “Japanese foods that everyone can enjoy!”
We hope you’re already looking forward to what will be coming to you during our festival this year!
We are also hosting our famous raffle again this year, where we will have nearly 100 fantastic prizes up for grabs!
Please check out our website for details on how to purchase raffle tickets. We will continue selling raffle tickets until we run out, so get clicking to be in the chance to win this year’s grand prize!
We hope you will join us together your friends and family for our second Virtual Melbourne Japanese Summer Festival this year!
