The Melbourne International Jazz Festival returns for ten epic days, taking over Melbourne’s streets, concert halls, clubs and dance floors with the very best in jazz – kicking off with a huge weekend of free events at Fed Square.

Bringing together an epic line-up of captivating live acts and some of our city’s finest DJs, Night Crawl invites you to hop between city spots and choose your own adventure, as you take in the best of Melbourne’s cutting-edge music scene.
Saturday 18 October, 12pm–4pm | Main Square
Get ready for a full-throttle celebration of swing, soul, and sizzling solos as three local big bands take over Fed Square for Big Band Saturday — a free, open-air concert on the opening weekend of the Melbourne International Jazz Festival.
Sunday 19 October, from 3pm | Main Square
As part of the Melbourne International Jazz Festival, catch two free films on the Big Screen celebrating some of the history and legends of jazz.
18 + 25–26 October, various times | ACMI
In a duet with the Melbourne International Jazz Festival, ACMI co-presents two films that capture the spirit of jazz music.
