Melbourne International Games Week 2023
Melbourne International Games Week (MIGW) is Asia Pacific’s largest digital games celebration. The week features conferences, events and activities for the games industry, educators, games enthusiasts, and the general public.
In collaboration with Creative Victoria and ACMI, Fed Square is set to host for the first time, Big Games Night Out, a Melbourne city-wide event, transforming the CBD into a realm of games-themed fantasy.
Featuring a gaming arcade, live music stages, cosplay runway, open-air gaming experiential activations, pop-ups, games-themed buskers and a major games-themed civic ritual at Fed Square.

Big Games Night Out is a free, inclusive, accessible and all-ages event that welcomes families, casual, social, hardcore and curious gamers from all walks of life to come together and celebrate amongst a spectacle of games, technology and civic ritual.

Join everyone’s favourite lamb and a cabal of cute and creepy denizens in this spectacular, immersive Fed Square takeover.

Get ready for an unforgettable event filled with adrenaline-pumping races and timeless gaming fun at the Mario King of Kart Tournament.

Join Summerfall Studios co-founders David Gaider and Liam Esler for a curated evening of films, clips and music that shaped their musical adventure videogame, Stray Gods. In this one-of-a-kind screening and in-conversation event, we take a look behind the scenes of Stray Gods, through the eyes of its directors, and get a glimpse of the stage and screen productions that shaped their work.

Never previously shown in Australian cinemas, these three short films use screen-captured footage from Grand Theft Auto V and Battlefield to consider how videogames reflect (or reinforce) the sociopolitical reality.
