Fed Square is proud to support the Royal Children’s Hospital 150 Anniversary Art Trail, a spectacular public-friendly trail comprising of 100 incredible commissioned UooUoo (pronounced ‘you you’) pieces scattered across Melbourne, including right here at Fed Square.
UooUoo, imagined by renowned Victorian artist Alexander Knox, is a mythical creature that captures the transformative spirit of the RCH and embodies 150 years of exceptional care, compassion and support by hospital staff and the community.
100 artists have been commissioned to create their own UooUoos, bringing personality, colour and creativity to the streets of Melbourne. Running for six weeks, these lovable sculptures will find homes in laneways, streets, parks and public spaces, culminating in an extraordinarily visual walking experience.
Don’t miss your chance to get up close to your very own UooUoo at Fed Square, designed by local artist Fiona Tweddle.
And if you fall in love with a UooUoo you’ll get the chance to take one home forever! All UooUoo’s will be auctioned post-event, ensuring an enduring legacy for future generations.
Fed Square’s UooUoo, by Fiona Tweddle and Janie Fearon, embodies childlike simplicity, designed to inspire happiness and positivity.
Fiona Tweddle’s creative career path has seen her travel the world with a diverse range of experiences and artistic achievements. After teaching art abroad and completing her five year resident artist position at The University of Melbourne, Fiona went on to create one of Australia’s leading independent children’s homeware lines.
