Fed Square is celebrating the Lunar New Year of the Snake with a range of exciting performances and activities!

Come see the dragon dancers in action, or join in a Tai Chi or Gentle Chinese Dance class.

Many people enjoy Tai Chi at Fed Square, led by Master Song, in blue silks.
Tai Chi Class

9.30am–10.30am

Exercise your mind, body and soul in an inspiring location to start your day. You will feel refreshed, rejuvenated and energised with Tai Chi, the Chinese martial art that helps promote health and relaxation.

Gentle Chinese Dance Performance

11am–12pm

Learn the fine art of Gentle Chinese Dancing. Melding traditional and contemporary dance, the class will begin with a gentle warm up and delicate stretches and continue as volunteers take you through the elegant movements of this ancient dance step-by-step.

Dragon Dance with Chinese Youth Society of Melbourne

1pm–1.30pm

Celebrate Lunar New Year with the Chinese Youth Society of Melbourne (CYSM) and witness their incredible Dragon Dance performance. With a variety of colourful dragons, CYSM showcases seamless teamwork as they bring in the new year with vibrant, flowing Dragon Dance performances that symbolise good luck and fortune.
