These works represent a continuation of the artist’s journey of self-exploration, incorporating imagery referencing his youth growing up in Ballarat influenced by hip hop and street art culture, alongside his Aboriginal heritage. Drawn from the self-portraits, Josh Muir Animated, pushes the works into animation, giving life to each of the symbols and patterns featured in the works. The 3-channel animation, created in collaboration with Isobel Knowles, is an attempt to step inside the mind of the artist, in an immersive sound and visual installation.
