On 16 April the Australian Flag at Fed Square will be flown at half-mast to commemorate Mr Leslie (Les) Jack Twentyman OAM.

A State Funeral Service for Mr Leslie (Les) Jack Twentyman OAM will be held on Tuesday 16 April 2024 at St Patrick’s Cathedral.

Les was the beating heart of Melbourne’s west. He dedicated a lifetime of service, generosity and kindness to some of Victoria’s most vulnerable people, and uplifted disadvantaged communities. What started as acts of kindness locally soon extended across the nation.

Through the Les Twentyman Foundation, Les advocated for people who were often forgotten and made a lasting impact on community issues, including youth homelessness, drug abuse, prison reform and social welfare.

A treasured son of Victoria and one of the great Australians – Les was awarded the Order of Australia in 1994 and named Victorian of the Year in 2006 for the thousands of lives he helped and the hearts he touched.
