FAM JAM by All The Queens Men

All The Queens Men unites people of all shapes, sizes and identities together in distinct, creative and communal experiences. All The Queens Men was founded in 2010 by artists Tristan Meecham and Bec Reid, after a chance meeting on the dance floor.

All The Queens Men believe dynamic artistic collaboration, bound by ethical partnerships and shared values, activates positive social change. Their work reflects the way they and their collaborating communities want to be in the world; fearless, joyous and inclusive.

Director: Bec Reid (she/her) is a third culture kid, Performer, Producer, Choreographer and Artistic Director/Co-CEO of All The Queens Men.

Filmmaker: Kimberly Summer (she/her) is a female, BIPOC Naarm based Director, Creative Director, Photographer and political dance Researcher.

Assistance Filmmaker: Estee Ho (she/her) is inspired by film stills and motion — a study of stories, rhythm, stillness and the spaces in between.

Facilitator: Daniel Newell (they/them) is a performance artist, educator and VCA graduate who walks the fine-eyeliner of the pop cultural/political through work which can be defined as creatively chaotic and cathartic.

Facilitator: Rob McCredie (he/him) is an arts producer and choreographer working with dance and set installation and has previously worked with young people and community creating original projects over many years as Co-Artistic Director of FLING Physical Theatre.

Facilitator: Nicole Sanders (she/her) is a passionate teacher and performer at L2R Dance.

Facilitator: Maya Hajizadeh (she/her) is a long-time teacher at L2R Dance and ebullient street dancer.

Studio Designer: Box Wars / Ross Koger (he/him) are passionate cardboard creators who can make all your cardboard dreams come true.

Sound Design/Composer: Luke Smiles (he/him) is mashing up the genres and creating the epic, bite-sized sonic grooves for your FAM JAM.

Props Designer: Amy Devereux (she/her) is an arts educator and craft enthusiast, who has had the pleasure of creating props for both stage and screen. Her favourite aesthetic is “play school useful box” so working on the Fam Jam props is a dream come true.

Dance Artists: L2R Dance makes dance accessible to children and young people who can’t access commercial dance opportunities. They break down barriers to participation including age, cost and elitism to ensure that community has easy access to our programs irrespective of gender, sexual orientation, age, ethnicity, and dance ability. L2R draws from the history of hip-hop culture with its aims to empower and critique social issues that affect young people in Melbourne’s West and beyond.

Dance Artists: Boonwurrung Ngargee Dance Group is a dynamic collective of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander young women, fusing traditional and contemporary dance styles to tell the stories of the Boonwurrung and the dancers’ many diverse experiences with the cultural guidance of Boonwurrung Elder, N’arweet Carolyn Briggs, and the creative direction of Wala Connections.

Jam Co-Host: Monique Nightingale (she/her) Burn City Raised, Monique Nightingale is a local Artist, Dancer and choreographer whose journey began in Melbourne’s West.

DJ: Antagonize (he/him) is a Filipino-born, Melbourne/Naarm-based multidisciplinary artist, DJ, and respected community leader in the “Burn City Krump” scene.

Performer: Tony Yap (he/him) is an accomplished dancer, director, choreographer and visual artist and the founding Creative Director of Melaka Arts and Performance Festival.
