To mark their ten year anniversary at Fed Square, the Melbourne Line Dancing group present a free performance and a community dance workshop, celebrating The Dragon Boat Festival.
For ten years, the Melbourne Line Dancing Group have gathered weekly in the Atrium at Fed Square, where the group practice and perform traditional Chinese dances in their distinctive red costumes. To celebrate their their remarkable ten-year milestone and the traditional Chinese Dragon Boat Festival, all are invited to enjoy this special free performance of traditional Chinese dance and song. The performance honours the members who have helped shape the group’s enduring community spirit, marking a decade of shared learning, friendship and cultural exchange.
Following the performance, visitors can also take part in a free Gentle Chinese Dancing workshop in the Atrium. Blending traditional and contemporary styles, the session begins with a gentle warm-up and stretching exercises before volunteers guide participants through the graceful movements of this ancient art form, step by step.
The Melbourne Line Dancing Group is a volunteer-led, not-for-profit community dedicated to promoting wellbeing through dance.
