Join Dr. Ambedkar International Mission Australia for the 133rd birth anniversary of Dr. Bhim Rao Ambedkar.

This free event honours the birth and life of Dr. Ambedkar and his significant contribution and influence as a driver of change through his strong advocacy of social justice, equity, and human rights.

Joining the event are leading scholars and thinkers:

Prof. Peter Friedlander (ANU, Canberra)

Professor and academic advisor with research interests in religious traditions in South Asia, Buddhism, and society. Recent national projects that he has contributed include research and translation studies on Hindi Sant poet including Ravidas, Kabir and Charandas.

Mr. Atul Bhosekar (Historian and Buddhist scholar)

Historian and Buddhist scholar who emersed himself into the world of inscriptions and explored the Dhammalipi, Pali and Ashokan scripts. Passion for archaeology lead him into the path of exploring and restoration of numerous Buddhist caves.

Prof. Vivek Kumar (Professor of Sociology, JNU)

An eminent academician and researcher in the field of social sciences. A visiting faculty at Harvard and British Columbia University. Recipient of many awards. He is also Ambedkar chair professor and has supervised more than 100 M.Phil PH.D. students.

Mr. Mangesh Dahiwale (Ambedkarite Buddhist, Thinker)

Ex-bureaucrat working for Buddhist and Ambedkarite movement. A renowned author and columnist who writes regularly on Buddhism and Ambedkarite movement.

Mr. Gaurav Somwanshi (Innovator Extraordinaire)

Innovator Extraordinaire, Blockchain Pioneer and Ambedkarite Thought Leader. Designated as ‘Future Leader’ by British Council and presented his thought leadership at UK Parliament, and University of Cambridge.

Mr. Adharrao Birhade (Retired Assistant Principal)

Follower of Buddhism and Dr. Ambedkar’s principals. Actively participates, supports and works in Ambedkarite Movements such as BAMCEF, Buddhist Society of India, Maratha Seva Sangha, Samata Parishad.

About Dr Ambedkar

Dr Ambedkar was a rational thinker, erudite scholar, rhetoric orator, an editor and a great humanitarian. His expertise extended to philosophy and anthropology, and he was recognized as a luminary in law after studying in London, Britain. Additionally, he pursued economics at Columbia University in New York, USA, establishing himself as an iconoclast in the field.

Dr. Ambedkar’s life was a rich fabric interwoven with remarkable events that have not only changed the life of millions of downtrodden people but also the destiny of a nation. From his humble beginnings, marked by adversity and discrimination, to his ascent as one of the greatest sons of India, father of Indian Constitution and champion of equality and social justice.

Dr. Ambedkar played a significant role in the revival of Buddhism in India and received numerous honorary doctorates from prestigious universities.

Dr. Ambedkar’s story is one of courage, perseverance, and profound transformation.

The Dr. Ambedkar International Mission (AIM) Australia organization draw inspirations from Dr. Bhim Rao Ambedkar’s life and work in nation- building. Their mission is to create a harmonious and sustainable social environment by protecting and promoting human dignity and equality in the communities they reside in.
