Deep Soulful Sweats is a collaborative and participatory event led by dance artists Sarah Aiken and Rebecca Jensen. It was founded on the Winter Solstice with Natalie Abbott and Janine Proost in 2013. The project has seen many incarnations, from stripped-back movement-focused events for 40-60 participants to creating large-scale spectacles for upward of 300 participants diverse in age and experience

Amongst the sizzling grills, join Deep Soulful Sweats for a night of experimental performance and dance. A BBQ occasion where the sweats are not (necessarily) meat-related – a contemporary collision of new and old, the raw and the well-done. Activating the COOKED hot plate stage, this event untangles iconic historical performance artworks, Australian shock horror and more. Join Deep Soulful Sweats grill side for a notable evening of performance paired with a free snack.
