Celebrating Dolly Parton: Steel Magnolias screening

Join us in celebration of Dolly Parton’s life, with a free screening of Steel Magnolias at the Square

No one quite brought people together like Dolly.

If you’re in need of some group catharsis, tonight we’ll be screening the 1989 comedy drama, Steel Magnolias.

The film stars Dolly in her iconic role as Truvy Jones, glamour technician at a small-town salon in Louisiana where a group of close-knit Southern women gather to gossip, share stories, and support each other through life’s ups and downs.

With an all-star cast, including Julia Roberts, Sally Field, Shirley MacLaine, Olympia Dukakis, Daryl Hannah, and of course Dolly Parton, the film is a beloved classic, and a moving story about the power of friendship between women.

The deckchairs will be out, but dress warmly and bring a blanket.

And definitely bring tissues.
