Join us for the safe steps Candlelight Vigil, and light a candle in remembrance of women and children lost to family violence.
The Candlelight Vigil takes place every year on the first Wednesday in May. It is held simultaneously with other vigils across Australia to remember women and children who have been killed as a result of family violence.
The Vigil is also an opportunity to come together as a community, stand in solidarity with those still living in an unsafe home environment, and publicly proclaim that family violence is unacceptable and we must do more to better protect and help those experiencing abuse.
At the 2018 Candlelight Vigil a minute’s silence will be observed and an honour roll shown in re…membrance of women and children killed at the hands of a person who was meant to love and care for them.
The evening will also feature speeches by family violence survivors and safe steps CEO Annette Gillespie. An event MC and musical tributes will be announced in April.
Please invite your friends and family to join us for this important occasion.
