Big Dance is the largest free celebration of dance in the world and it’s hitting Australia in 2018!
Presented by Ausdance Victoria, Big Dance is a participatory dance festival, a celebration of dance for all ages and all levels of ability. Learn choreography by acclaimed choreographers, Frances Rings and Craig Bary and join in the performance of the Big Dance in Federation Square, Melbourne.
Free workshops are being held throughout Melbourne to help you learn the Big Dance. Whether you are a seasoned pro or a first-time mover, come and get involved in Big Dance!
Following the Big Dance, stay in Federation Square for performances by local dance groups including Shiamak, Jason Coleman’s Ministry of Dance and Transit Dance.

2.05pm – Live cross to Sydney to hear from the choreographers
2.20pm – Christine Anu – Performance and opening of the Big Dance (streamed from Sydney)
2.30pm – Performance of the Big Dance
2.35pm – Speeches from Ausdance Victoria Board and VicHealth
2.45pm – Performances from Shiamak, E.motion21 and Origins
3.20pm – Performance and Hip Hop workshop with Indigenous Hip Hop project.
4.00pm – Event ends.
