Take a look at the natural world from an un-humanly macro and an extraordinarily micro point of view.
To coincide with the world premiere exhibition Marshmallow Laser Feast: Works of Nature ACMI are presenting a collection of films that allow you to experience the natural world from new and unnatural perspectives alongside a selection of short films co-curated with the creative minds behind Nowness.
When we perceive things, we’re better able to understand them. As daily selfies place us in a comfortably personal perspective, recent advancements in moving image technology such as satellite filming, drone cameras, GoPro cameras and surgical image capture allow us to view and experience the world in ways that the human eye is simply incapable of.
Through this collection of mostly factual films, ACMI are offering views of the natural world from eye-opening perspectives, of the human body in ways we might instinctively recoil from, and of hidden moments that we might overlook on a daily basis.
