Check out our highlight video from Art After Dark Melbourne at Fed Square in 2022
Fed Square will come to life after dark, starting on Friday night with an epic Fed Live with Briggs. Featuring a top line-up of all-First Nations artists, including rapper and hip-hop artist Briggs, Kee’ahn, Soju Gang and Izy. The free show will be followed by the launch of Constellations by international artist Joanie Lemercier. This fascinating art installation will light up Fed Square across the weekend with a 3D visual masterpiece exploring the cosmos.
A mesmerising audio-visual installation that projects light through water particles to form shapes and intangible structures in the air.
Let the festivities at Fed Square begin with an exhilarating night of live music.
*Please note, Briggs’ set will contain some explicit language. Viewer discretion advised.
Enjoy complimentary tea, coffee or hot chocolate to keep warm along with free tasty treats like mini pies and pizzas from HERO and glow in the dark fairy floss.
Drawing from themes of community, joy and connection, The Ian Potter Centre: NGV Australia, Fed Square comes to life after dark with free access to the whole gallery, art, exhibitions, music, performance, bars and more.
On display for the first time after being premiered at NGV Triennial in 2017 and for the first time at NGV Australia — one of Melbourne’s most beloved installations returns to the city. Internationally acclaimed Australian artist Ron Mueck’s immersive work ‘Mass’ is inspired by the complex biological structure of the human skull — which the artist considers beautiful and extraordinary. Activated throughout the night to engender moments of joy and contemplation, from poetry readings to a choir and DJs, Mass celebrates the universally human form that links us all.
