In recognition of the 100-year anniversary of the Armistice and the end of World War One, the Armistice display reminds us to pause and honour those we lost and those who survived the Great War, a period of devastating horror, loss and separation in our world history.
The Armistice display uses artwork to explore the sensations of  the Armistice through a four part narrative – leaving, loss, relief and community. Personal recollections and moments merge with vivid memories, depicted by the watercolours of Lieutenant Cyril Ednott Crooke of the Australian Flying Corps.  It shows the end of the World War One was both a celebration and a time for reflection.
