Find out what’s open and what’s happening this ANZAC Day at Fed Square.
Although ANZAC Day falls on a Saturday this year, in Victoria, the public holiday is observed on this day. To mark the day, we’ll be lighting up in the evening, to remember all those Australians who have sacrificed for our country.
Throughout the Square, all our venues will be open as usual.
Fed Square will light up red to remember the sacrifice of all Australians who have served in wars, conflicts and peacekeeping operations, for our country.
All our museums and galleries will be open as usual, including The Ian Potter Centre: NGV Australia, ACMI and Koorie Heritage Trust (KHT).
If you’re looking for a coffee, drink or something to eat throughout the day, Time Out will be open from 6.30am after the Dawn Service, Riverland will be open from 7am with coffee and egg and bacon rolls, and all levels of the Transport Building will be open. Chocolate Buddha will also be open from 12pm, as usual. Taxi Kitchen (level 1, Transport Building) is also open from 11am, offering modern Australian x Asian dining with panoramic city views.
Doors open from 7am, with bookings available from 7–10am, followed by walk-ins for the remainder of the day. If you’re headed to the ANZAC Day match at the ‘G, it’s a top spot to meet up with friends before or after the game. If you don’t have match tickets, you can also catch the game livestreamed to their screens across Transport Hotel and Transit Rooftop Bar.
There’s also live music on in the Public Bar, with Gary Eastwood on from 11am–2pm and HAYBAX from 7.30pm–10.30pm, with DJs performing before and after sets.
