For 15 years, A Walk in the Park has given the Parkinson’s community a place to keep moving forward in a powerful show of connection, hope, and community.
This milestone year is not only a celebration of how far the community has come—it’s a commitment to the future being created, including people living with Parkinson’s, their loved ones, carers, and health professionals.
Registration opens at 8.30am and Fed Square will come alive from 9.30am with pre-walk entertainment including a warm-up, live music, and kid-friendly entertainers.
Starting at Fed Square, the walk takes a leisurely path along the banks of the Yarra River, before returning to Fed Square. There is a 2km or 4km option available. Walkers will be entertained throughout the day.
Both the 2km and 4km courses are mobility-friendly and suitable for wheelchairs and prams. There will be toilet stops and water stations along the way, as well as Traveller’s Aid to assist you if needed.
Pets are more than welcome to join the walk, as long as they are on a leash or carried in a mobility device, e.g. a pram.
If anyone has questions about living with or supporting someone who lives with Parkinson’s, the Fight Parkinson’s Health Team will be in the Fight Parkinson’s Information Marquee to assist.
For those walking in support or memory of a loved one, there will be the opportunity to display a special message of recognition on the Tribute Wall. Everyone who registers for A Walk in the Park will receive a free event t-shirt.
A Walk in the Park is an opportunity to reconnect, share stories, and recognise the people who walk the Parkinson’s journey together—and the difference that makes.
Come along, bring a friend—or make a new one!—and join the 15th annual A Walk in the Park.
