PRESENTED BY FED SQUARE
Celebrate fifty years of Melbourne independent community radio station Triple R with a free, all-ages gig – featuring indie icon Courtney Barnett, along with Party Dozen and KAIIT.
Since it began in 1976, Triple R has become one of the country’s most influential radio stations, championing local music and art, bringing attention to underrepresented issues, and providing opportunities for local storytellers, music-obsessives and other creatives to cut their teeth in broadcasting.
Now, Triple R is turning 50.
Come on down to celebrate Triple R’s milestone nifty-fifty birthday with us, with a free gig featuring indie singer, songwriter and musician Courtney Barnett, noise-rock duo Party Dozen, and PNG-born neo-soul singer songwriter KAIIT, plus Triple R MCs and DJs.
Here’s to 50 years of Triple R – a station that is truly synonymous with Melbourne.
And the celebrations won’t stop there. Another special Triple R 50th birthday event will be coming to Fed Square in late November. Be sure to stay tuned for more details.
For those unable to attend, Triple R will be broadcasting LIVE from Fed Square during Courtney Bartnett’s set. Tune in to the performance via 102.7 FM, 3RRR digital, rrr.org.au or with the Triple R app.
