This year’s Oration, A fair and just future for First Peoples: Social Justice Report 2025 will be delivered by Katie Kiss, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Social Justice Commissioner.

The annual Oration promotes and celebrates Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander voices, perspectives and issues. It demonstrates Deakin’s commitment to reconciliation and Indigenous knowledges.

Acknowledgement of country

Fed Square acknowledges the Wurundjeri Woi-wurrung people, the Traditional Owners on whose land we gather and work. We pay our respects to Elders past and present, and extend our respect to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people from all nations of this land.
