Thank You Day

Well, the new Victorian public holiday for the Grand Final didn’t get a lot of time in the sun before Covid-19 had other plans. But never fear, this year 23 October is Thank You Day, a day off in celebration of our essential workers and the Victorian community.

Our medical, police, firefighting, hospitality, retail and essential staff have all put it all on the line – often thanklessly – in order to keep society bubbling away during lockdown. And the people of Victoria (that’s you!) have kept the lights shining and the smiles coming, even from behind your masks.

Thanks to our friends at The Age we’ve curated a gallery of incredible images of the Victorian people and our everyday essential heroes – so we can celebrate everyone (from a responsible distance, of course) this 23 October.
