East Arnhem Live
East Arnhem Live is a free online concert series bringing the culture, history and beauty of East Arnhem Land, Northern Territory to audiences across Australia and the world.
Yolŋu, the traditional owners of East Arnhem Land, practise the longest continuing traditional culture in the world. At the centre of this culture is song, dance and connection to country.
East Arnhem Live is a unique opportunity to visit East Arnhem Land from the comfort of your own home. Over a number of weeks, experience Yolŋu artists sharing their music and culture with you from spectacular locations in East Arnhem Land. Don’t let social distancing and biosecurity designations stop you from immersing yourself in the beauty of East Arnhem Land and sharing in stories through song and dance.
East Arnhem Live is presented by Yolŋu Radio and proudly supported by Rirratjingu Aboriginal Corporation and Developing East Arnhem Limited. Through East Arnhem Live, local artists are being employed to support them while gigs are cancelled and tourists are unable to visit us. It also supports maintaining and sharing culture during this unprecedented time.
Performances are posted via live stream to the East Arnhem Land Facebook page and Fed Square Facebook each Saturday at 7:00pm (AEST) Melbourne/Sydney/Brisbane.
How to watch on a streaming device
Stream from your mobile device or computer
- Make sure your TV is connected to your Apple TV, Chromecast or Samsung TV device and is on the same wifi next as your mobile phone or computer.
- Open the Facebook app on your mobile device or computer, go to the East Arnhem Land Facebook page and find the East Arnhem Live video.
- Tap the video to make it go into full screen mode.
- Tap in the top right of the video.
- Select the TV where you’d like the video to play.
Download the Facebook Watch TV APP
- If you have a smart TV, go to the app store for your TV and download the Facebook Watch TV app.
- Open the Watch app on your TV. Click continue.
- A code will appear on your TV app with instructions to follow.
- Open the Facebook app on your mobile device and then tap the notification at the top and tap Approve, then tap Continue. Or, you can go to facebook.com/device on a computer or phone, then enter the code manually and click or tap Continue.
