Located in the heart of Melbourne’s Fed Square, ACMI (Australian Centre for the Moving Image) celebrates the wonder and power of the world’s most democratic artform – fostering the next generation of makers, players and watchers.

ACMI offers exhibitions, cinemas, and an incredible gift shop. Entry to ACMI is free, as is the interactive exhibition The Story of the Moving Image – open 364 days a year. On arrival you can collect The Lens, a free, handheld device that allows you to explore, collect and discover a universe of new films, TV shows, videogames and art to watch, play and experience. Simply tap on the objects and experiences you enjoy as you move through the exhibition, and log in later to see your online collection and discover even more about the world of screen culture.
