Get your skates on to visit the only outdoor ice rink in the heart of Melbourne City!
River Rink in Fed Square is making an exciting return, so bring your friends and family to enjoy some ice skating along the stunning River Terrace!
Suitable for the young and young at heart, the rink will be open from 10am to 10pm daily. Don’t worry if you’re still learning to skate, assistants in the form of 70cm high penguins and seals can be rented from the River Rink Box Office to help support you on the ice, available on a first come first served basis.
During the day views of the city and Yarra River form a dramatic backdrop for skaters and as nightfall arrives River Rink in Fed Square transforms into a fairyland of light and colour.
On Wednesday evenings the rink will come to life with Christmas themes and music and if you’re looking to recharge your energy levels there’ll be a great selection of food and beverages on offer throughout the season.
Be sure to wear your winter warmers and jackets to prepare for Melbourne’s classic “four seasons in one day” weather! We also recommend bringing thick socks and an extra pair, particularly in wet weather, so that you can stay nice and comfortable.
Customers should be aware that event day pricing applies to this event and Fed Square encourages you to buy early and save money. Tickets are more expensive if you buy them on the day that you are coming to skate. So don’t forget to “Buy Early and Save!”
PLEASE NOTE: Sessions will proceed in wet weather unless the conditions are unsafe. If for safety reasons Federation Square is required to cancel a session, patrons will be given tickets to an alternate session.
