Many of you may have seen the movie ‘Pay It Forward’ or perhaps read the book , a story about a young boy who did three good deeds for others in need. In return, all he asked was that they pass on the good deed to three other people, thereby keeping the cycle going.
Did you know you can Pay It Forward and help someone in need right here in Fed Square?
Tucked away in The Atrium, George Paraskevopoulos, Ali Aziz and their team at In A Rush serve up nutritious and delicious food using only fresh, natural and preservative free ingredients; keeping busy Melbournians happy and healthy.
But what you may not know is that it’s also an ethical and community focused café.
During a visit to New York City, owner George Paraskevopoulos, discovered the Pay It Forward initiative helping to feed the city’s homeless, and from there ‘The Soup Place’, located in Centre Place, one of Melbourne’s iconic laneways, was born. The idea is very simple; buy your soup, pay an additional $3.50,and then leave a message on a sticky note which is then redeemed for a bowl of rich wholesome soup by someone in need.
George has now expanded this awesome concept to the city outlets of his café, In A Rush including his café located in Fed Square.
Next time you’re grabbing a coffee, breakfast or lunch at In A Rush, consider giving that little bit extra to help out one of our friends on the street.
You’ll also be glad to know they use only the finest beans, sourced ethically from Di Bella Coffee’s green bean buying program, Crop to Cup. This initiative supports the coffee farming communities through employment, healthcare and education.
Kudos to George and his team!
