Circle the Square Tours

This is our most popular tour and a great way to introduce your students to the city. Suitable for students of all ages, Circle the Square explores the themes surrounding Fed Square’s role as Melbourne’s dynamic civic centre. These include: public spaces, community, cultural events, and interpretations of Fed Square’s distinctive architecture, design and history. With so many things happening at Fed Square daily, each tour provides an unique experience and makes a great addition to your Melbourne city school excursion or camp.
Recommended Levels: Primary to Tertiary
When: During the Victorian school term
Duration: 45mins – 1 hour
Price: $6 per student (minimum of 20 students per booking), no charge for teachers and support staff.

Play with Fed Square – Co-presented with Pop Up Playground

Fed Square has collaborated with Pop Up Playground to present a unique city program for Year 9 students. Using the concept of ‘play’, this program engages students in a series of outdoor games that encourage new learning experiences through physical activity, creative thinking, team work and lots of fun! Students play in groups. Some games require smartphones or digital cameras.
Suitable for: Year 9 City Experience students

Where in the World is Carmen’s Winnebago?

Melbourne’s leading live games company, Pop Up Playground, presents a playful experience that will take students all over Federation Square – and the world! Carmen is an international super-spy, but she’s forgotten where she parked her Winnebago – a motor-home full of secrets. Only by travelling the world – represented by the buildings of Federation Square and its surrounds – and making contact with other secret agents, can you gather the clues to find it! This adventure game involving actors, physical challenges, and puzzle solving has been especially designed for Year 9 students to get them thinking creatively and strategically as they work together to unravel the mystery. Students will be playing in small teams and each team will require a smartphone or digital camera. May be played standalone, or combined with the two-hour “Play with Federation Square” workshop for a full day of games.

A Day of Play (Full Day)

Explore Federation Square and the city in a completely different way.  This program is a combination of the previous two tours including breaks.
